The Fluidigm BioMark™ System revolutionizes how biologists can conduct single-cell gene expression experiments. Ideal controls for PCR, RNA microarray & antibody array studies
The AMSBIO range of Universal Reference Products (RNA, cDNA and Protein Lysate) has been expanded to include standards for studies involving humans as well as for animal species including Monkey, Dog, Mouse, Rat, and Chicken. These products provide ideal controls for high throughput PCR, RNA microarray and antibody array studies.
All AMSBIO Universal Reference Products are derived from very diverse tissue sets (from both male and female donors), and manufactured on an industrial scale, to ensure the broadest coverage of genes and to minimize the lot-to-lot variation.
Universal RNA from AMSBIO is total RNA isolated from sources, by modified guanidine thiocyanate techniques. Universal RNA can be used as controls for optimizing and trobleshooting single and two colour microarray studies. Universal cDNA is prepared by reverse transcribing AMSBIO's Universal RNA by random hexamer or oligo dT primer. Total RNA is isolated by modified guanidine thiocyanate techniques. Universal cDNA from AMSBIO can be used as controls for real time PCR and regular PCR, and also as gene pools for cloning genes. Universal Protein Lysate from AMSBIO is total protein isolated from whole tissue sources. Universal Protein Lysate can be used as controls for comparison of protein expression and antibody microarray studies.

Oxford Instruments ships impressive five module cluster tool for growing PV market
Leading system manufacturer Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology has recently shipped a five module cluster system to Robert Bosch, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of solar cells. The System100Pro deposition tool is a ‘Hex Handler’ providing capabilities for several deposition technologies, and allowing multiple process steps to be carried out without a vacuum break.
Oxford Instruments’ cluster systems offer high vacuum options for the handler and process modules, resulting in reduced background contamination levels, and the ability to cluster different deposition technologies. The system delivered to Bosch also incorporates a high temperature substrate table option up to 700ÂșC, and flexibility of power ramping within the software, and low power plasma strike options, thus minimising potential damage at the start of process. Some of the technology was developed under the EC supported contract FP7-Energy-2009-1 - 241281 'ThinSi'.

Based in Stuttgart , Germany , Bosch develops, manufactures, and markets wafer-based and thin film silicon solar cells that are characterised by high, stable output with narrow output tolerance. The company has purchased the Oxford Instruments cluster tool for use in research and development.

Miniature NMR Spectroscopy Solution
Mestrelab Research, SL and picoSpin, LLC have announced plans to include a free, one-year single-user license for Mnova NMR software with every picoSpin-45 NMR spectrometer. Customers will be able to activate the Mnova NMR license immediately after receiving the picoSpin-45.
