Genevac Ltd (Ipswich, UK), the solvent evaporation business of SP Industries Inc (Warminster, PA) has entered into an OEM agreement with ion chromatography (IC) specialist Dionex Corp (Sunnyvale, CA), which sees the Genevac Rocket™ high speed evaporator being sold as part of Dionex accelerated solvent extraction (ASE®) instruments.
The Rocket high speed evaporator enables rapid concentration or evaporation of up to six 400ml flasks or up to 18 Dionex ASE® vials simultaneously. In addition using Genevac's proprietary SampleGenie™ technology in conjunction with the Rocket evaporator enables samples to be concentrated directly into an autosampler or storage vial, eliminating the need for manual sample transfer. To automate transfers from ASE® vials the new Genevac Flip-Flop™ system can be used. The elimination of manual transfer steps and the automation of the evaporation / concentration process delivers improve laboratory workflow, increases reproducibility of results and maximises sample recovery.
