Porous Materials Provide Precise Controlled Release of Chemicals & Fragrances

Porvair Filtration Group has announced that their Vyon® sintered porous plastic materials have been used to provide an efficient matrix for precise controlled release of chemicals and fragrances.

Vyon materials have been successfully used for many years for controlled release. A new fragrance release product has recently been developed using a new fine grade of the Vyon material. Combining high porosity and ultra fine microporous structure the new material delivers excellent controlled release performance over an extended period of time.

Applications that have benefited from the unique properties of Vyon sintered porous plastics include controlled release of disinfectant chemicals and fragrance emanation for a toiletry products manufacturer.

Available in sheet, tube, and almost any 3-dimensional molding in a range of pore sizes (10-100 micron) - Porvair Filtration Group offers a range of Vyon plastics that are FDA and WRAS approved, easily cleanable, strong, rigid and self-supporting with a long life expectancy and high resistance to chemicals. These materials can be purchased for OEM products or can be integrated and packaged into finished products.  Manufacturing of these specialist, high performance materials is underpinned by an ISO 9001-2000 quality assurance program.
