Daylight Solutions Introduces a New Mode Hop‐Free Laser Product Line with Enhanced Stability & Functionality for Spectroscopy in the Mid‐IR
Daylight Solutions has announced the introduction of a new line of highresolution
Mode Hop‐Free Lasers featuring enhanced stability and the narrowest linewidth
commercially available from external cavity, mid‐IR technology. The debut of this product line is occurring at the Conference on Lasers and Electro‐Optics (CLEO) in San Jose, CA.
The successful Mode Hop‐Free laser product line has been completely redesigned for higher stability and increased versatility. The new design allows for narrower open‐loop linewidth (≤10 MHz over a 1 s integration time) and reduced jitter both at a single wavelength and while scanning. The result is improved quality high‐resolution spectra. The enhanced mechanical stability allows for a substantial increase in the bandwidth of the piezoelectric tuning element (PZT) to over 600 Hz.
The new TLS‐41000‐MHF model line also features a redesigned current modulation circuit optimized for high‐resolution spectroscopy. The circuit has a widened bandwidth (200 Hz to over 1 MHz) with low phase delay. The overlap of the PZT and current modulation bandwidths allows for the implementation of a traditional two‐stage locking circuit to minimize the center linewidth drift and jitter. “The increase in performance over our previous product offering is quite a step forward,” says Dr. Michael Radunsky, Product Marketing Manager for Daylight Solutions’ scientific product lines, “With over 300 units in customer labs and a number collaborative efforts underway with leaders in the field of high‐resolution spectroscopy, we have unparalleled experience and user feedback. Higher resolution, smoother tuning,
and the ability to tightly lock our source to a reference are all properties the high‐resolution
spectroscopy community has demanded. We are proud to be the only company that can offer this nextgeneration performance in the mid‐IR.”
This new Mode Hop‐Free Laser is available for summer 2012 deliveries in a full range of wavelengths spanning the mid‐IR from 4 to 10.5 μm.
The new Mode Hop‐Free product line is on display at CLEO May 8‐10 at the San Jose Convention Center at the Daylight Solutions booth (#2127). For further information, contact Chris Armacost at carmacost@daylightsolutions.com or +1 (858) 432‐7508.
