► A new aptamer chemiluminescence nanosensor was proposed. ► The design principle was based on CRET between ABEI and AuNPs. ► This design provides a new method for the preparation of chemiluminescence sensor. ► The nanosensor exhibited high sensitivity and selectivity for thrombin detection.

► Glucose oxidase (GOD) was adsorbed into a nanoporous TiO2film. ► The TiO2film was layered on iron phthalocyanine (FePc)- vertically-aligned carbon nanotubes. ► The GOD electrode in neutral PBS exhibited a pair of well-defined redox peaks. ► FePc nanoparticles contributed to high enzyme loading and bioelectrocatalysis for glucose. ► Voltammetric and amperometric responses of the GOD electrode to glucose were unaffected by O2.

A deep-blue OLED-based biochip for protein microarray fluorescence detection

► Fluorescence-based point of care diagnosis requires cost effective optical sources. ► A novel deep-blue organic light-emitting diode was optimized for emission at 430nm. ► The OLED was tested on a protein microarray with good sensitivity and specificity. ► These results will be instrumental for the development of next generation point-of-care biochips.

High-speed integrated optical logic based on the protein bacteriorhodopsin

► An all-optical, nanosecond logical switch was realized. ► The active material in the integrated optical device was the protein bacteriorhodopsin. ► The device (a comparator) worked in the ternary logic mode. ► The results demonstrate the applicability of a biomaterial in information technology.

► Supercritical CO2can uniformly disperse Au nanoparticles on graphene and CNTs. ► The proposed electrodes show an improved electro-oxidation ability toward glucose. ► The Au/CNT shows a higher sensing current than that of the Au/graphene electrode. ► With ionic liquid (IL), the glucose detection currents at the electrodes increase. ► With IL, the sensitivity of Au/graphene becomes greater than that of Au/CNT.

► We design a novel sandwich-type aptasensor for sensitive detection of PDGF-BB. ► A supramolecular method is adopted for the synthesis of FC60NPs. ► The detection probe (Au@PB/FC60) exhibits excellent electrochemical behaviors. ► Amplification of electrochemical signal and noise reduction.
