The Fluid Metering PDS-100 Programmable Dispensing
System is the solution for valveless electrolyte and slurry dispensing for
battery manufacturing process applications requiring maintenance free, high
precision fluid control.
The PDS-100 is designed for high accuracy, low volume
dispensing of electrolytes, slurries, and metal forming lubricants used in the
manufacture of AA, AAA, C, D, & Button Cell batteries. Internal pump
components of the PDS-100 are made of chemically inert, sapphire-hard ceramics,
making it ideal for dispensing corrosive KOH electrolytes, as well as viscous,
abrasive slurries.
The PDS-100 design
integrates FMI’s patented CeramPump® valveless piston pump technology with
precision stepper motor control and integral electronics, all housed in a
rugged space-saving enclosure suitable for countertop or wall mounting.
Intuitive programming is menu-driven and accomplished using easy access
front-panel membrane switches.
The dual channel configuration of the PDS-100 increases
production output two fold at a fraction of the cost of two purchasing separate
pumps. Furthermore, the dual channel version maintains full-featured
independent pump control and footprint of the single channel version.
FMI’s patented CeramPump® valveless design accomplishes all
fluid control functions with only one moving part, a single rotating and
reciprocating piston made of chemically inert, sapphire-hard ceramics. Using
dimensionally stable ceramic internal components while eliminating check
valves, results in a dispensing system that will maintain 0.5 precision for
millions of dispenses without recalibration.
The PDS-100 is available in single and duplex
configurations to accommodate dispense and flow ranges from 2 microliters per dispense
up to 1.5 liters per minute continuous pumping.
For over 50 years FMI pumps have been used for industrial
automation, medical instrumentation, laboratory R&D, chemical process,
pharmaceutical packaging, mining, alternative energy, water treatment, environmental
monitoring, food processing and much more.
