New Norovirus Monoclonal Antibodies

Norovirus is the leading cause of food-borne illness in the US and thus the most common cause of gastroenteritis.
Symptoms include severe diarrhea and vomiting. Transmission of the virus occurs via contaminated food, surfaces and infected individuals. Outbreaks develop quickly in contained environments such as nursing homes, schools and cruise ships.#
Noroviruses are single-stranded RNA viruses that possess a non-enveloped protein capsid. Noroviruses that infect humans belong to genogroups GI and GII.
ViroStat has developed and released two new sets of MONOTOPE™ monoclonal antibodies to the major capsid protein of the GI and GII Noroviruses. These new antibodies function in ELISA and lateral flow applications for rapid detection of these viruses.
Go to the ViroStat website,, to download the data sheet for these antibodies or contact them directly at 207-856-6620 for more information.
ViroStat, Inc. is a primary manufacturer of infectious disease antigens and antibodies, supplying researchers and manufacturers since 1985.
